Job Description

KLA is seeking a research scientist or engineer with expertise in optical systems engineering to contribute to the development of metrology and inspection products for the semiconductor industry. The role involves diagnosing complex system issues, collaborating with teams, and utilizing data analysis tools to enhance product performance.

Requirements

Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes or prior work on inspection/metrology tools is a plus.
Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and SysML is advantageous.
Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% for customer support or engineering collaboration.
Track record of diagnosing complex system issues and driving them to resolution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Deep knowledge of optical systems engineering, including imaging optics and illumination design.
Experience in designing and integrating complex electro-mechanical or optical systems.
Proficiency in data analysis and modeling using MATLAB, Python, or similar.
