Job Description
Amazon's Prime Air is seeking a Senior Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer to lead the development of autonomous drone delivery systems. This role involves driving engineering excellence across drone systems, ground infrastructure, and customer experience platforms, while ensuring safety and rapid delivery times.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience in systems engineering for complex aerospace, autonomous systems, or integrated technical products
- Demonstrated expertise in requirements engineering, system architecture, and interface management
- Strong understanding of systems engineering V-model and product development processes
- Experience leading technical reviews and driving decisions across multiple engineering teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute systems engineering processes across the full product development lifecycle from concept through launch and operations
- Drive technical reviews and decision-making across multiple development phases including Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, and Integration Readiness Review
- Evaluate, develop and deliver solutions for complex interdisciplinary system design problems
- Lead cross-functional collaborations to ensure integration across diverse teams including drone systems, ground operations, regulatory compliance, and customer experience
- Derive and validate system requirements, acceptance criteria, and performance specifications
- Conduct technical risk assessments and failure mode identification
- Lead design reviews to evaluate technical options and identify gaps in requirements or designs
- Document and communicate product development decisions to enable reuse across teams
