Job Description

The Senior Manager - Maintenance at Rivian is responsible for leading maintenance teams, implementing standardized processes, and driving the development of the RIOS process. This role requires collaboration between maintenance, engineering, and production to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in automotive or automotive component maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Solid understanding of management principles such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and performance management required.
  • Expert-level experience in the development and implementation of CMMS systems, with an emphasis on new model launch experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with concepts of reliability and maintainability, and able to develop and lead plant-wide efforts to improve equipment health.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective leader across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Experience building and managing a technical team through effective 1:1s, thoughtful feedback, career growth planning, and performance reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance teams to reduce MTTR and increase MTBF.
  • Implement and drive problem-solving techniques to understand root cause in failure and develop countermeasures from recurrence.
  • Lead interface between leadership, maintenance, and engineering.
  • Support JPH and OEE improvements, through continuous improvement and project work.
  • Work with Reliability & Maintainability to develop improvement strategies.
  • Work with EHS to ensure compliance is maintained and focus on leading metrics.
  • Seek predictive and preventative methodology for reduced downtime and scrub PM plans for optimization of maintenance tasks.
  • Interface with manufacturing engineering to ensure all documents are available and linked to maintenance system.
