Job Description

As a Senior Automation Engineer at Amazon, you will enhance equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers through proactive controls automation and technical support. Your role involves troubleshooting complex control systems, mentoring junior engineers, and leading initiatives to optimize material handling equipment systems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of PLC programming experience
  • 2+ years of PLC/SCADA integration experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Responsibilities

  • Apply Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on troubleshooting and investigate the root cause of engineering issues
  • Collaborate with building Operations, Operations Engineering teams, and other departments to support MHE systems optimization and project implementation
  • Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address system performance issues
  • Provide escalation support to automation engineers, troubleshooting locally and remotely
