Job Description

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Designer to join their Advanced Manufacturing Group in Omaha, Nebraska, focusing on the Data Center market. The role involves delivering innovative HVAC design solutions, collaborating with engineers and designers, and ensuring technical quality and adherence to client expectations.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
  • Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to follow lead a building mechanical team on a project and to collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or other technical degree (ideally).

Responsibilities

  • Layout and design of HVAC systems for various types of clients, including electric vehicles, data centers, and heavy industrial facilities.
  • Development of the design criteria for the HVAC systems, including general comfort heating and cooling, accurate temperature or humidity control, and cleanliness requirements for clean room applications.
  • Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including calculations related to sizing and selecting systems.
  • Layout of Ductwork systems based on a Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
  • Development of final design documents including specification, sequences of operation, piping layout, and final construction documents.
  • Coordination with other disciplines.
