Job Description

Jacobs is seeking a Resident Engineer to provide critical construction management support for heavy transportation infrastructure projects. The role involves daily project administration, leading inspection staff, and ensuring projects stay on track while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Licensed Professional Engineer plus 8 years of experience, or CCM Certification plus 10 years of experience
Field Inspection Experience, substantial professional years experience
Supervisory Experience, substantial professional years experience
Knowledge of CTDOT construction policies and procedures
Basic knowledge of CPM scheduling techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent computer and mathematical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Perform daily project administration and coordination for construction projects
Lead the inspection staff including reviewing daily inspector reports
Handle project correspondence and maintain accurate records
Produce estimates and assist with the change order process
Review contractor payroll reports and EEO documents
