Job Description

The I&C Engineer at Jacobs will design and implement instrumentation and control systems for large water/wastewater and industrial projects. This role involves programming support, troubleshooting SCADA systems, and collaborating with project teams to enhance control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Five years of experience in PLC control systems, P&ID development, control system architecture development, SCADA systems, and networks
  • Experience with industrial PLC programming and hardware implementation (Allen Bradley PLC, Modicon, or Siemens preferred)
  • Experience commissioning of SCADA systems, including troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques
  • Experience with IT or OT networking and applications
  • Professional Engineer License in Alabama or ability to obtain PE license within one year

Responsibilities

  • Utilize PLC Control systems, SCADA systems, and Human Machine Interface software to design and implement instrumentation and control systems
  • Provide programming support for water, wastewater, municipal, and industrial clients
  • Design and troubleshoot SCADA and OT networks including PLCs, servers/workstations, radios, network switches, and firewalls
  • Support, analyze, and maintain SCADA and OT applications
  • Prepare specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, perform startup and commissioning activities
  • Conduct site visits and testing and make recommendations for control systems improvements
  • Work with other engineering disciplines on large, complex design projects
  • Collaborate on proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development efforts
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Drive ownership of health & safety in all aspects of project execution
