Job Description

Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Stream Restoration Engineer to join their Environmental Planning and Permitting team in Portland, OR. This role involves supporting hydrology and hydraulics modeling, stream restoration design, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative environmental solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a focus in water resources
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with your project team
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation/Inroads, and/or OpenRoads Designer
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or the ability to obtain it within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Support H&H modeling, stream restoration design, fish passage planning, and floodplain analysis
  • Collaborate across Jacobs’ Environmental Planning and Permitting, Water Resources, and Transportation groups
  • Prepare design calculations, reports, plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Participate in fieldwork for data collection, construction oversight, and environmental assessments
  • Coordinate with permitting teams, clients, agencies, and subcontractors
  • Contribute to basis of design reports, biological and geomorphic assessments, and mitigation planning
