Job Description

Salesforce is seeking a software engineer to join the Platform Orchestration team, responsible for building and operating foundational systems for service deployment and monitoring across Slack's infrastructure. The role involves designing scalable orchestration systems and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance service reliability and efficiency.

Requirements

Strong software engineering fundamentals with clean, maintainable code
Curiosity and a systems mindset regarding platform layers and infrastructure orchestration
Strong grasp of reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency in distributed systems
Collaborative and mentoring mindset with best practices in testing and documentation
Solid experience operating backend systems in production
Hands-on experience with AWS and navigating complex environments
Experience building infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform
Passion for creating platform solutions that empower engineering teams
Pragmatic problem-solving approach with a drive to automate operations

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of software projects for service deployment and management
Design and build foundational orchestration systems for reliable service operations
Develop tools for continuous delivery, incident workflows, and service health tracking
Implement platform solutions using infrastructure-as-code and AWS-native services
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate platform capabilities into workflows
Contribute to internal frameworks supporting deployment workflows and lifecycle management
Advocate for platform efficiency and cost-conscious engineering
Drive adoption of best practices in service orchestration and cloud resource usage
