Job Description

This Lead Software Engineering position at Morgan Stanley involves developing and maintaining software solutions to support business needs within the Wealth Management Technology Division. The role requires collaboration with various teams and focuses on building a resilient platform for client and account data management.

Requirements

Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Self-motivated, highly organized, team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
10+ years experience in software development
Experience with C, C++, Java, Python
Proven experience with relational databases (Oracle, Sybase)

Responsibilities

Effectively work with the PMO, Development, Product Management, Business and Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks and Architecture teams
Work with existing technology stack (Java, C++, Linux, Unix, Open-Source Platforms, and SOA) as well as new technologies
Develop and maintain Perl and Python scripts for various batch processes
Perform new development, maintenance fixes and enhancements to meet business requirements
Draft and review architectural diagrams, specifications, business requirements and design documents
Document technical requirements, program and subsystem designs, resolutions to system problems, project task descriptions, effort estimates, and unit and integration tests
Acquire a robust understanding of E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley products, services, processes, and organizational structure
Maintain awareness of industry trends, compliance concerns, risk control processes, and regulatory landscape
Mentor other software developers
