Job Description

This Lead Software Engineering position at Morgan Stanley involves developing and maintaining software solutions to support business needs within the Wealth Management Technology Division. Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • 10+ years experience in software development
  • Experience with C, C++, Java, Python
  • Proven experience with relational databases (Oracle, Sybase)

Responsibilities

  • Effectively work with the PMO, Development, Product Management, Business and Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks and Architecture teams
  • Work with existing technology stack (Java, C++, Linux, Unix, Open-Source Platforms, and SOA) as well as new technologies
  • Develop and maintain Perl and Python scripts for various batch processes
  • Perform new development, maintenance fixes and enhancements to meet business requirements
  • Draft and review architectural diagrams, specifications, business requirements and design documents
  • Document technical requirements, program and subsystem designs, resolutions to system problems, project task descriptions, effort estimates, and unit and integration tests
  • Acquire a robust understanding of E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley products, services, processes, and organizational structure
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, compliance concerns, risk control processes, and regulatory landscape
  • Mentor other software developers
