Job Description

As a Senior Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will lead cross-functional projects focused on developing sortation and distribution solutions. This role involves managing project lifecycles, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of engineering solutions while traveling up to 80% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field
  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation
  • Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with internal and external teams to successfully manage the lifecycle of challenging projects
  • Actively participate in firm engineering reviews and impact proposed solutions
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to set project priorities and drive schedules
  • Lead and coordinate execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs
  • Lead effective meetings and document discussions, decisions, and future steps
  • Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans
  • Articulate system and/or equipment designs to internal customers and partner teams
  • Manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validation/approvals
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
