Job Description

The Operations Engineering Internship at Amazon is a part-time, on-site role based in Hesperia, CA, for Spring 2026, transitioning to a full-time position during the Summer 2026. Interns will work on innovative engineering projects related to order fulfillment systems, focusing on process improvement and automation within the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12 week internship maximum
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or other related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Drive resolution for an intern project by owning and deep diving data to support a process improvement recommendation
  • Assist in designing, building, improving, and innovating order fulfillment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network
  • Support management, design, and implementation of medium scope integrated automation projects
  • Guide and coordinate design and execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors
  • Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing
  • Direct system commissioning and predefined testing activities
  • Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training and procedural compliance
  • Thoroughly document/investigate FC change requests and provide recommendations
  • Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures
