Job Description

The Staff Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will focus on sustaining and improving automated manufacturing equipment, spending equal time on sustaining operations and continuous improvement projects. The role requires a strong aptitude for learning and collaboration across various engineering disciplines, particularly in electrical design and PLC programming.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering/Controls Engineering or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience in electrical controls design & sustaining of manufacturing equipment OR 6+ years of experience with Allen Bradley, Beckoff or Siemens PLC
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Experience improving Equipment with a demonstrated track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement
Experience commissioning equipment
Good understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly
Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting and configuration
Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools as well as general machining
Experience with 2D/3D modeling software and robotics maintenance

Responsibilities

Sustain 24 by 7 production operations through responding to and resolving breakdowns quickly and efficiently
Lead a cross functional TPM team while taking on improvement projects to assist in improving the factory
Diagnose equipment failures, find root cause and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness
Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration and qualification
Become Expert Level Trainer on all machines in assigned area
Create, implement and improve Preventative and Predictive Maintenance documents and schedules
Program ladder logic and structured text on multiple PLC controller platforms
Participate in spare part analysis and inventory development
