Job Description

The Staff Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will focus on sustaining and improving automated manufacturing equipment, spending equal time on sustaining operations and continuous improvement projects. The role requires a strong aptitude for learning and collaboration across various engineering disciplines, particularly in electrical design and PLC programming.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering/Controls Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical controls design & sustaining of manufacturing equipment OR 6+ years of experience with Allen Bradley, Beckoff or Siemens PLC
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Experience improving Equipment with a demonstrated track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement
  • Experience commissioning equipment
  • Good understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly
  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting and configuration
  • Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools as well as general machining
  • Experience with 2D/3D modeling software and robotics maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Sustain 24 by 7 production operations through responding to and resolving breakdowns quickly and efficiently
  • Lead a cross functional TPM team while taking on improvement projects to assist in improving the factory
  • Diagnose equipment failures, find root cause and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness
  • Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration and qualification
  • Become Expert Level Trainer on all machines in assigned area
  • Create, implement and improve Preventative and Predictive Maintenance documents and schedules
  • Program ladder logic and structured text on multiple PLC controller platforms
  • Participate in spare part analysis and inventory development
