Job Description

As a Battery System Engineer at Amazon, you will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to design and develop innovative consumer battery products. Your role will involve leading battery system design, ensuring performance and safety, and driving development from initial product introduction to mass production.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of Li-ion battery system per performance and safety requirements
  • Drive battery development from NPI through mass production
  • Research and evaluate emerging battery technologies
  • Collaborate with product teams to define battery specifications
  • Design battery protection circuit and pack design for NPI programs include schematic design, and component selection
  • Develop and review battery pack schematics, BOMs and layout to meet design requirements
  • Conduct system and design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), and risk assessments
  • Analyze and resolve battery-related issues in production and field
  • Perform battery safety assessment and design for safety
  • Support battery certification processes (CTIA/IEEE1725)
