Job Description

The Senior Hardware Engineer role at Microsoft involves driving complex hardware initiatives within the Silicon Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering team. The position requires a strong background in hardware product development, technical program management, and collaboration across various engineering teams to optimize silicon hardware development for Microsoft's cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
  • Experience in hardware product development across global engineering teams
  • 3 years of experience in technical program management and implementing engineering processes
  • PMP® certification or equivalent process improvement credentials
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI with data analysis capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic engineering programs by defining scope, goals, and success metrics
  • Lead end-to-end hardware development programs from requirements through launch
  • Standardize workflows and practices; lead Lean Management and process improvement initiatives
  • Define and track KPIs, maintain real-time dashboards, and leverage Power BI for reporting
  • Partner with key stakeholders including hardware and software engineering teams
  • Manage key vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of components and services
  • Apply knowledge of finance processes to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control
