Job Description

The Staff Process Engineer at Tesla will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing product flow, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to solve problems, improve manufacturability, and sustain products through cost reduction and yield improvements.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
+7 years’ experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing
Experience developing and improving Process with a track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness improvement activities
Good understanding of Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Execution System, Specification Management, Change Point Management
Data collection and analysis experience
Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and its application
Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities and competing priorities
Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers

Responsibilities

Develop expertise in manufacturing processes and understand process capabilities through critical data analysis
Analyze and optimize production processes to ensure safety while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Responsible for diagnosing issues found during the part manufacturing process and drive corrective action back to source
Analyze data from various sources to identify trends in build quality and efficiency
Monitor and reduce process variation using techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Create and maintain Manufacturing Instructions, routings, and associated processes
Support 24 by 7 production operations
