Job Description

The Global Senior Critical Environment Application Service Engineer at Microsoft is responsible for the support, management, and optimization of data center Building Automation and Electrical Power Monitoring systems. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and collaboration with various teams to enhance system performance and security, while also focusing on sustainability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • Development and configuration based experience in at least one of the following systems: Johnson Controls Metasys, ALC WebCTRL, Tridium Niagara, Alerton Compass, Siemens Desigo, or Inductive Automation Ignition

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify issues within the BAS or EPMS and deploy appropriate fixes to resolve root cause(s) and enable prevention.
  • Implement reliable, scalable, and high-performance BAS or EPMS solutions which may include first of kind or new technologies, new products, and interactions between technology layers.
  • Collaborate with Security teams to respond to and prevent security items.
  • Influence BAS or EPMS design and engineering teams to adopt new standards and practices.
  • Take ownership of BAS or EPMS end to end service design by driving efforts within an organization to identify, define, recommend, and build optimal configurations.
  • Drive new telemetry API initiatives, create and utilize telemetry data to influence necessary changes or improvements based on the data.
  • Develop automation to define, develop, measure, track, change, and improve the quality of BAS or EPMS systems.
