Job Description

Apple is seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead the Integration Engineering team, focusing on enabling Apache Cassandra to work seamlessly with platform infrastructure. Requirements

  • A track record of building stable and scalable data-intensive applications that unify the streaming, storage, and analytical stack.
  • Experience building analytical services atop Apache Spark.
  • Experience integrating leading databases with Apache Kafka.
  • Experience managing platform convergence and unification with minimal disruption.
  • Ability to rapidly build credibility with engineers, customers, and partners.
  • Comfort working with geographically distributed partners.
  • Expertise in project management and project planning.
  • Experience developing or spearheading work in distributed systems, database systems, or storage engines.
  • Advanced understanding of data structures and algorithms in storage and indexing.
  • Proficient in modern Java.
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D in Computer Science-related fields or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Integration Engineering team to enable Apache Cassandra integration with platform infrastructure.
  • Develop and lead a team of experts in modern database technology and distributed systems.
  • Ensure the team's work is deployed at massive scale and has a significant impact on Apple services.
  • Collaborate with internal platform customers and Site Reliability peers.
