Job Description

Apple's Visual Intelligence Technology team is seeking a candidate to enhance user experiences through advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques. The role involves developing sophisticated models for query understanding and ranking, as well as collaborating with researchers to create domain-specific Large Language Models for AI-powered products.

Requirements

MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science or related field
7+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, natural language processing or data mining
5+ years of experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, evaluating, and developing data collection/annotation/management tooling for LLMs
Experience being a tech lead, successfully leading a team to ship software to users
Excellent knowledge and practical skills in designing ML platforms, architectures or algorithms
Strong interpersonal skills able to work independently as well as in a team

Responsibilities

Conduct large scale machine learning and deep learning to improve Query Understanding and Ranking of search
Develop fundamental building blocks needed for Artificial Intelligence
Create sophisticated machine learning models using word embeddings and deep learning
Utilize online learning to react quickly to changes in data
Implement natural language processing to understand user queries
Combine information from various sources to provide optimal user results
Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to develop and evaluate Large Language Models
Conduct applied research to transition generative AI research into production-ready technologies
