Job Description

Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Staff Manufacturing Engineer to develop new processes and high-volume automation equipment for the Stator team in Reno, NV. The role involves collaborating with various teams to design and implement manufacturing systems for stators, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met.

Requirements

  • Experience improving production processes using data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Experience generating process and product quality documentation
  • Experience managing and mentoring small teams of engineers
  • Strong hands-on experience with high-volume and pilot manufacturing
  • Proven track record of data driven methodology to solve complex problems
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop new highly automated manufacturing lines from concept to production
  • Optimize product flow and line efficiency while reducing Capex and lead-time
  • Generate machine specifications, documentation and manufacturing instructions
  • Generate process flow, failure mode effects analysis, and inspection methodology for new products
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
  • Collaborate with the Stator Engineering Design team to propose solutions for Tesla’s future products
  • Drive excellence in project execution by defining, managing, and executing project timelines to ensure on-time delivery through proactive program management
