Job Description

Tesla is seeking a Software QA Engineer to join their Cloud Infrastructure team, responsible for developing frameworks and tools to enhance internal test systems. The role involves building test automation, managing CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and performance of cloud services.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of Software Testing experience, preferably within cloud infrastructure or large-scale software environments
  • Demonstrable experience in solving complex QA problems related to scalability, reliability, reporting, and parallelization
  • Experience in designing automation frameworks and developing test automation software
  • Proficient in Golang, Typescript, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, and/or C#
  • Working knowledge of test methodologies, processes, and tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, JIRA, STLC, and Test Management tools
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Good understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with CI/CD tools
  • Excellent communication skills, highly detail-oriented, and passionate about improving the customer experience

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust automated tests for regression, performance, and stress testing using industry-standard tools
  • Specify, design, develop, integrate, and maintain test automation frameworks and tools tailored for cloud infrastructure environments
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to execute and report automated tests, ensuring seamless integration with deployment processes
  • Write backend and frontend integration tests as well as end-to-end tests for RESTful APIs and web interfaces
  • Triage test execution failures, identify gaps between existing tests and the automation framework, and implement solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for software engineers on best practices for building and enhancing test suites
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate end-to-end functionality
