Job Description

Google is seeking a Research Scientist specializing in Modeling and Simulation to analyze and forecast the capabilities of quantum computers. Requirements

  • PhD degree in Physics or Engineering, other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience conducting research in quantum information science or technology.
  • Experience with transport simulations in neutral atom or trapped-ion systems.
  • Experience developing software for numerical simulation, modeling, or data analysis.
  • One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.

Responsibilities

  • Develop atom array error models for QEC circuit simulations and resource estimation.
  • Model and simulate atomic motion during atom array transports under potential noise and imperfections.
  • Develop software for numerical simulation and analysis for atom array operations including gates and transport.
