Job Description

Google is seeking a Research Scientist specializing in Modeling and Simulation to analyze and forecast the capabilities of quantum computers. The role involves developing software prototypes for simulating neutral atom operations and creating realistic noise models for quantum error correction simulations.

Requirements

PhD degree in Physics or Engineering, other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience conducting research in quantum information science or technology.
Experience with transport simulations in neutral atom or trapped-ion systems.
Experience developing software for numerical simulation, modeling, or data analysis.
One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.

Responsibilities

Develop atom array error models for QEC circuit simulations and resource estimation.
Model and simulate atomic motion during atom array transports under potential noise and imperfections.
Develop software for numerical simulation and analysis for atom array operations including gates and transport.
