Job Description

This role involves providing category management excellence to clients in procurement diagnostics and transformations. You will develop sourcing approaches, drive analyses to identify savings opportunities, and enhance the capabilities of both McKinsey colleagues and clients.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, operations or related disciplines with outstanding record of academic achievement preferred
  • 3+ years of prior procurement sourcing experience, with knowledge of the full value chain including purchasing/supply management, manufacturing, lean, savings opportunity identification, etc.
  • Must have experience with RFPs, RFQs, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and managing a minimum of two million in spend
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint required
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Support developing a best-in-class content repository for various categories
  • Ensure consistent delivery and quality to clients
  • Develop sourcing approaches for various categories
  • Drive development of and execute standard analyses across categories to identify savings opportunities
  • Drive market research and insights
  • Help develop capabilities of McKinsey colleagues and clients
  • Play a key part in driving process improvement and delivering successful business results
  • Contribute to identifying companies that McKinsey can partner with and/or acquire
  • Identify new solutions, trends, or alternative vendors for us to work with
