Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Power Electronics Controls Engineer to develop intelligent control systems for electric vehicles and energy applications. The role involves designing control algorithms, validating them through testing, and collaborating with a diverse team to create innovative power conversion systems.

Requirements

MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering specializing in Power Electronics or Controls
Strong understanding of power electronics control and analytical skills
Experience in developing control algorithms for switching power converters
Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink and power converter modeling tools
Solid programming skills in C/C++ and Python
Proactive attitude with attention to detail

Responsibilities

Designing and optimizing control algorithms for power electronics applications
Utilizing simulation tools to evaluate circuit topologies and components
Translating application requirements into controller specifications
Developing and implementing novel control strategies
Testing and troubleshooting control algorithms in various environments
Creating power electronics models for performance analysis
Defining tests to validate algorithms and system interactions
Collaborating with system, electrical, and software engineers
