Job Description

Goldman Sachs is seeking a software engineer to develop financial products that impact millions of consumers. The role involves both back-end and front-end development, database management, and collaboration with DevOps to deploy applications in cloud environments.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years experience
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Expertise in Java, React JS, HTML5
  • Familiar with distributed systems, NoSQL and relational databases, distributed messaging, and transactional services
  • Experience integrating with Restful web services
  • Ability to establish trusted partnerships with product heads and executive level stakeholders
  • Comfortable with Agile Operating Models

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, etc.
  • Implement business logic, database interactions, and integrations with third-party services
  • Optimize application performance and ensure scalability
  • Develop responsive and user-friendly interfaces using modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue.js)
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement designs and ensure a seamless user experience
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
  • Design and manage relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
  • Write efficient queries and optimize database performance
  • Collaborate with DevOps to deploy applications in cloud environments
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality
  • Debug and resolve application issues in a timely manner
