Job Description

Netflix is seeking a data engineer to build reliable, scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark/Flink for their Messaging team. This role involves collaborating with data engineers and partners to create flexible data products that support various use cases, particularly as Netflix invests in new formats like Live Content and Games.

Requirements

  • Experience in distributed data processing (Batch or Streaming)
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Proficient in at least one major programming language and passionate about writing clean, supportable code
  • Strong data modeling skills
  • Advocate for data quality with a strong opinion on data audits, unit tests, and documentation
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with data scientists and engineering partners
  • Curiosity about rapidly evolving technologies in the domain
  • Proven success leading complex technical projects
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating and giving/receiving candid feedback

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with data engineers and partners to build reliable, scalable data pipelines
  • Power analytic dashboards, custom visualization applications, A/B experiments, and algorithm features
  • Build scalable, flexible data products that support current and future use cases
