Job Description

The Rapid and Rural Logistics team at Amazon is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee large-scale construction programs. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to manage the fulfillment center design from concept to operational handoff, requiring expertise in engineering, planning, and program management.

Requirements

7+ years of project management, real estate development, architecture/design experience
Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

Lead the Request for Proposals (RFP) process and vetting qualified contractor proposals
Coordinate with designers, building teams, and cost estimators to establish project budget, scope, and schedule
Assist in obtaining necessary information and decisions from Amazon for construction drawings
Manage approvals and permissions from building landlords
Act as a facilitator of information for internal Amazon functional teams
Perform duties as the primary Amazon representative on permitting with authorities
Monitor and assist with utility integrations such as phone service and electrical power
Audit the schedule on behalf of Amazon, monitor site production, and track progress
Develop capital appropriation requests and manage fiduciary responsibility for budgets
Perform site visits to confirm schedule progress and attend contractor meetings
Review contractor’s buyout, subcontracting, and material purchase schedules
Coordinate with Amazon launch/startup teams regarding schedule and area turnover
Audit contractors' punch list completion progress
Direct the contractor through document turnover and closeout process
Coordinate with Amazon property management for building facilities transition
Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance standards and reduce costs
