Job Description

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Products & Applied Research team, where you will design and build extensive data sets to enhance user experiences across various platforms. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to create scalable data solutions and tackle complex data challenges at a massive scale.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
7+ years of experience where the primary responsibility involves working with data
7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala or others)

Responsibilities

Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects
Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs
Define and manage Service Level Agreements for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership
Determine and implement the security model based on privacy requirements
Design, build, and launch collections of sophisticated data models and visualizations
Solve challenging data integration problems using optimal ETL patterns
Assist in owning existing processes running in production, optimizing complex code
Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems for easier development of data artifacts
Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities
Mentor team members by giving/receiving actionable feedback
