Job Description

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Products & Applied Research team, where you will design and build extensive data sets to enhance user experiences across various platforms. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to create scalable data solutions and tackle complex data challenges at a massive scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience where the primary responsibility involves working with data
  • 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala or others)

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects
  • Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs
  • Define and manage Service Level Agreements for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership
  • Determine and implement the security model based on privacy requirements
  • Design, build, and launch collections of sophisticated data models and visualizations
  • Solve challenging data integration problems using optimal ETL patterns
  • Assist in owning existing processes running in production, optimizing complex code
  • Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems for easier development of data artifacts
  • Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities
  • Mentor team members by giving/receiving actionable feedback
