Job Description

Tesla's Supplier Quality team is seeking a proactive individual to safeguard manufacturing operations by addressing supplier quality issues. This role involves leading investigations, implementing quality methodologies, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure high-quality production standards.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
Understanding of implications of class A surface components on vehicles
Strong foundation in manufacturing and quality methodologies including OEE, 8D problem solving, and SPC
Exceptional interpersonal skills for building collaborative relationships
Proactive, results-driven mindset with a passion for improving processes
Practical experience with Quality Systems, PPAP/APQP processes, and GD&T
Strong technical communication abilities
Supplier sourcing or process audit experience is a plus
Practical experience with data analysis and visualization using tools like SQL, Tableau, Python is a plus

Responsibilities

Lead comprehensive investigations of supplier quality issues
Drive containment actions and develop sorting/rework methodologies
Solve problems under pressure and provide actionable next steps
Prioritize tasks effectively using hypothesis testing and RPN evaluation
Break down complex tasks into manageable steps and lead implementation
Identify and champion kaizen initiatives
Own and drive Supplier Quality KPIs
Coordinate effectively with suppliers for timely sort initiations
Stay at the forefront of emerging manufacturing and engineering trends
Follow issues through to completion, supporting different production shifts as needed
