Job Description

Morgan Stanley is seeking an associate to join their Healthcare Services and Technology team within Equity Research. The role involves analyzing macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, developing financial models, and providing insights to institutional investors in the healthcare sector.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Investment Banking/M&A/Equity Research/Strategy consulting.
  • Healthcare industry knowledge, with a strong preference for individuals with knowledge of the managed care industry.
  • Experience working with three statement financial models.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities

  • Support the senior Healthcare Services analyst and team in detailed coverage of over 20 companies.
  • Follow industry changes, competitive dynamics, and financial trends to publish thought-leading research on the healthcare supply chain.
  • Determine investment ratings and price targets using discounted cash flow, sum of the parts, and comparable company analysis.
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with company management teams, industry experts, and thought leaders to monitor market share shifts, industry trends, and policy impact on the healthcare industry.
  • Create and maintain company models, develop earnings forecasts, and industry models leveraging skills in accounting, finance, and economics.
  • Provide industry and company-specific insights to Morgan Stanley’s institutional investor client base.
  • Conduct industry diligence and primary research through surveys, expert conference calls, and various channel checks to evaluate industry trends.
