Microsoft's AI Applied Engineering team is seeking a Senior Applied Data Scientist to develop innovative AI and ML solutions for enterprise customers using cutting-edge technologies. The role involves collaborating with top talent to create bespoke AI solutions, leveraging Azure AI services, and driving the adoption of Agentic AI.
Requirements
Doctorate in relevant field or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience with software design and development using general purpose programming language (Python/Java/C# etc.) and knowledge of data pipelines.
1+ year of related research experience with AI/ML techniques and tools (e.g., LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, benchmarking and evaluations of models and agentic solutions).
Experience with LLMs (Large Language Models), GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) models, prompt engineering, and building Agentic Solutions.
Experience in dealing with ambiguity, and handling changes in customer requirements.
Responsibilities
Build world class AI and ML solutions for our customers and partners involving GenAI, AI Agents, and fine-tuned and off-the-shelf models.
Build complete, highly performant, intelligent, AI models and solutions.
Drive the adoption of Agentic AI by developing bespoke AI solutions for top Microsoft customers.
Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of innovative solutions that leverage our latest AI Foundry Agentic AI, models, and tools capabilities.
Leverage technical skills to architect state-of-the-art solutions that address our customers' business needs.
Collaborate with other engineering teams, researchers, and Field engineers to help enterprise customers incorporate cutting-edge AI Foundry platform into their robust end-to-end systems.
Play a critical role in identifying opportunities to innovate and differentiate AI Foundry.
Act as the primary technical advisor for prospective customers evaluating Agents and Azure Direct Foundry models.
Demonstrate how we can address the customer's use cases through proofs of concept.
Provide technical guidance on integration and deployment best practices.
Partner closely with account executives to understand customer requirements.
Configure AI Foundry's capabilities to showcase how it meets the customer's needs.
