Job Description

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Google, you will assess supplier designs and manufacturing processes to ensure quality and reliability for Google's technical infrastructure. You will collaborate with various teams to drive improvements, conduct failure analysis, and manage supplier quality audits, ensuring that manufacturing processes are controlled and meet Google's standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Power related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the power technology and manufacturing process.
  • Experience in statistical product quality control, process capability, reliability, failure analysis, and process improvement.
  • Certification in American society for quality (e.g., CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA) is preferred.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Power related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in quality, reliability, or supplier quality management is preferred.
  • Experience with reliability prediction tools is preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages and SQL is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) fundamentals and collaborate with teams to help them understand and apply RCCA tools and principles.
  • Interface with supplier engineering and agreement manufacturers to monitor quality and reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvements, investigate and coordinate failure analysis, isolate true root causes, categorize failures, and drive corrective/preventative actions.
  • Complete quality improvement initiatives with suppliers and Google engineering.
  • Manage quality section of supplier scorecards during business reviews and drive systemic quality/reliability improvements.
  • Conduct and manage supplier quality audits, driving high standards in manufacturing and quality.
