Job Description

The Senior Silicon Power Performance Engineer at NVIDIA focuses on developing power performance and thermal control mechanisms for GPU, CPU, and SoC products. This role involves collaborating with multi-functional teams to optimize system-level power across various platforms and products, from datacenters to low-power devices.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in EE, CE, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in product performance and power measurement, debug and analysis.
  • Background with implementing system-level features, perf per watt optimization techniques, thermal policies, and data analysis and statistics tools.
  • Experience with System-level silicon bringup and validation, DVFS, power characterization and modeling, performance analysis and optimization.
  • Exposure to digital design, circuit analysis, CPU/GPU/SOC architecture, PTPX, process technologies and transistor/device physics.
  • Background with Power correlation and modeling, lab tools (like DAQs, Oscilloscopes, analyzers), HW/SW power management features.
  • Experience working with offshore teams is required.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute in multi-functional teams to validate and implement silicon power and thermal features.
  • Debug power limiting constraints and drive efficient time-to-market product-specific customizations to overcome them.
  • Deliver system-level power optimizations spanning across silicon, platform, software, and manufacturing.
  • Partner with SSG's internal Tools team to improve modeling & analysis infrastructure and test procedures.
  • Work alongside system architects, chip and board designers, software/firmware engineers, and other teams in a creative, high-energy work environment.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts.
