Job Description

The Value Package Introduction (VPI) Technician supports the launch of new or updated products into manufacturing by performing build activities, validating processes, collecting data, and ensuring production readiness meets engineering and quality standards. This role involves collaboration across manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain to ensure smooth product introduction with minimal disruption.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience
  • Licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be required

Responsibilities

  • Execute assembly, teardown, and validation builds for new products or product upgrades
  • Identify build issues, fit-up problems, and process gaps during prototype or pilot runs
  • Document build observations and communicate feedback to engineering and program teams
  • Review and verify work instructions, torque specs, tooling requirements, and BOM accuracy
  • Support creation or updates of standard work, operator instructions, and quality checks
  • Capture production data such as cycle time, torque readings, defect types, and process performance
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers, product engineers, quality, supply chain, and launch teams
  • Validate that tooling, fixtures, and measurement devices function correctly for new products
  • Support initial capability studies and quality checks for new components
  • Transition learnings from prototype builds into production-ready processes
