Job Description

This apprenticeship role at Cummins involves assisting Product Design Technicians to develop skills necessary for certification as an Experienced Technician. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Must meet the minimum educational requirements to be 'Program Ready' to start the apprenticeship program.
  • Registration in a certified apprenticeship learning program required.
  • Some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops capability to ensure model and drawing quality.
  • Learns to create and maintain product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing.
  • Utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control.
  • Assists with the processing of internal engineering Work Requests.
  • Learns to engage with required functional areas to review completed drawings and models.
  • Assists with the design of components through layout studies and dimensional stack ups.
  • Participates in improvement projects and maintains cleanliness within the workplace.
