Tesla is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to design and optimize plumbing systems for its factories, ensuring integration with manufacturing processes. The role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing design and engineering, preferably in a consulting firm, construction company, or similar environment
- Experience leading small to medium size projects from a plumbing design perspective
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- ASPE Certified Plumbing Designer 'CPD' preferred
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D) and knowledge of BIM processes
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and best practices, including IPC, UPC, NFPA standards and ASPE Standards
Responsibilities
- Design and develop plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, sanitation, and fire protection systems
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and hydraulic calculations to ensure systems meet project specifications and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, facility operations, and project managers to integrate plumbing designs into overall building plans
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems, including troubleshooting issues during construction
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes
- Research and contribute with innovative and traditional ideas to solve engineering problems
- Possess excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
