Tesla is seeking a Project Engineer for its Cathode Advanced Manufacturing Project team in Fremont, CA. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to operations, focusing on chemical process manufacturing and project management.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2+ years in manufacturing environment, in a mix of engineering and project roles
- Direct experience in planning medium capital projects (>$250 K USD) related to pilot-scale chemical processing systems
- Ability to work and communicate cross-functionally
- Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Work with Cathode Engineering, Factory Design, Quality, Operations, and other supporting functions to scope and drive designs for deployment of materials for production equipment
- Determine project specifications and acquire the necessary materials for completion
- Develop scope and define parameters for project design and implementation
- Define and drive tasks to be performed by the cross-functional team
- Identify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacks
- Drive review and selection of external equipment vendors and integrators for delivery of selected manufacturing project scope
- Coordinate internal and external engineering findings to de-risk plant design and optimize plant operations and availability
- Track budget, equipment orders, and change order logs
