Tesla's Semi team is seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Lab Manager to lead quality assurance efforts in a 24x7 manufacturing environment. The role involves managing lab operations, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring products meet quality standards while continuously improving processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Six Sigma, CQE-ASQ or equivalent certifications are preferred
- 5+ years of experience in product development, quality system or program quality
- 3+ years of experience of Quality leadership in manufacturing and/or designing new products for high volume operations
- Proven track record to build and lead a strong team in a 24x7 manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in teambuilding, leadership development, training, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Analysis, and Six Sigma tools and methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize highly dynamic production environment
Responsibilities
- Lead supervisors and Technicians to support Semi Lab operations
- Manage all laboratories and its assets to ensure 24x7 support with trusted test results
- Anticipate, comprehend, and implement laboratory operational requirements to support analysis for incoming quality and production
- Develop and Lead quality assurance team to support production lines, laboratories and incoming material quality activities
- Establish and meet clear quality metrics and objectives for quality assurance activities
- Develop standard work, training, performance metrics and development plan for quality operations and Labs teams
- Drive professional problem solving and nurture a data driven team with advanced statistical, analysis and visualization skills
- Support 24x7 global business with the needed sense of urgency to protect Tesla customers and business
- Develop and motivate a high performing team of exceptional engineers, supervisors and technicians
