This role involves leading the integration of next-gen materials through electrode process development to enhance the performance of thin composite films for energy storage applications. The engineer will utilize advanced materials science, rheological expertise, and electrochemical understanding to solve complex challenges in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Degree in Materials Science, Polymer Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proven expertise in composite thin film development (cast, melt processing, solution casting, or analogous techniques)
- Deep understanding of polymer rheology, processability, and composite integration
- Strong electrochemical background with experience in energy storage systems is a plus
- Proven experience in mechanical property evaluation of polymeric films and composites
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced R&D environment
- A self-starter capable of navigating complex, multifaceted challenges with adaptability and precision
- Strong collaborator with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Passion for merging fundamental materials science with real-world engineering
- A strategic thinker capable of aligning short-term objectives with long-term technological vision
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize binder/active/inactive materials incorporation for composite films
- Investigate structure-property relationships to address performance gaps in energy storage systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate lab findings into scalable solutions
- Optimize mechanical, electrochemical, and material properties to improve composite thin film performance
- Manage end-to-end project timelines, balancing hypothesis-driven research with operational agility
- Document experiments, analyze data, and communicate insights to stakeholders
