Job Description

The Core Infra team at Apple is seeking an experienced software engineer to enhance core infrastructure for information intelligence. This role involves building systems that connect Apple users to information, optimizing data pipelines, and collaborating with various teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and backend services
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and operate the large-scale backend infrastructure that powers Apple's information intelligence and search features
  • Optimize massive-scale data pipelines to process large volumes of data
  • Collaborate closely with product, search, and machine learning teams to define infrastructure requirements and deliver robust solutions
  • Ensure the health and performance of critical infrastructures by monitoring key metrics, troubleshooting complex issues, and participating in an on-call rotation
