Prototype Build Engineer

Job Description

Meta is looking for a Prototype Build Engineer to lead prototype builds from concept to delivery, collaborating with internal teams and external partners. The role involves managing resources, resolving schedule setbacks, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Requirements

BS degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience with consumer electronic products
2+ years of experience with hardware development cycles and sustaining hardware
2+ years of experience in manufacturing assembly and test development
Experience leading engineers and technicians in daily work and building teams

Responsibilities

Partner with internal teams and vendors to plan and manage operational resources required to execute prototype builds
Collaborate with Research Engineers to deliver prototypes as requested
Resolve schedule setbacks by developing and implementing recovery plans
Work with program management to ensure the assembly flow is properly supported across functions to deliver material and hardware on schedule
Provide program status updates and risk assessments to management to support short- and long-term goals
Communicate prototype build plans across multiple programs
Establish and drive a clear plan and path forward for executing prototype builds successfully, including defining scope, timelines, and resource requirements
Identifying and mitigating risks and dependencies
Developing and maintaining detailed schedules, milestones, and build plans
Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration
Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and internal teams
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
