Arcadis is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join their US Places Design & Engineering team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role involves leading fire protection design for various facility projects, including federal projects, while collaborating with other engineers and architects.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in mechanical or fire protection engineering
- Fire Protection Professional Engineering Licensure in the United States
- Extensive experience producing IFC design packages for federal agency facilities
- Deep knowledge of life safety codes
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA, NEC, NESC, UL
- Advanced technical understanding of fire alarm and suppression systems, smoke control, and related technologies
- Strong communication skills related to presentations, project communications, and written documents
Responsibilities
- Lead design teams and mentor junior staff to develop construction-ready design packages of drawings and specifications
- Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, project and staffing plans
- Identify, qualify, and pursue potential clients and project opportunities
- Fluency in design and modeling software including Revit, BIM, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Navisworks
- Skilled in designing fire protection systems in various facilities
- Travel to project sites for fire protection site surveys and collaboration with client team members
