This role involves applying mechanical engineering principles to develop optimized design concepts and specifications, ensuring they meet cross-functional requirements. The engineer will lead design decision-making, problem-solving, and create CAD models while collaborating with various technical experts to ensure robust system designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Systems Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of experience as a Design, Product, Validation or Systems Engineer, or related position
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Systems Engineering, or related and 3 years of experience
- Experience in Product Problem Solving and Product Platform Planning
- Familiarity with IDFMEA, GD&T, CREO, ANSYS Workbench
- Experience in Cross-Functional Design Integration and Computer Aided Design models
- Knowledge of Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis
- Experience in System Requirements Engineering
Responsibilities
- Apply specialized mechanical engineering principles to create optimized design concepts
- Communicate design capabilities to meet cross-functional requirements
- Solve product problems and recommend actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Create and develop a holistic product platform aligned with market plans
- Lead negotiations with technical experts and communicate design intent
- Utilize computer programming for Mechanical Design and System Design
- Lead design decision making in component and subsystem design
- Execute processes including Critical Design Decisions and Design Review
- Create CAD models in accordance with company standards
- Translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements
