The Analyst role within the Fraud Optimization & Monitoring Team at Marcus by Goldman Sachs focuses on conducting data-driven investigations and monitoring to mitigate fraud risks. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field, or equivalent experience in fraud, monitoring, or risk analysis.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in fraud operations, internal audit, or financial crimes.
- Familiarity with current fraud typologies and ability to translate these into monitoring logic.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization platforms (Tableau/Power BI).
- Strong attention to detail with experience in root-cause analysis for fraud events.
- Critical thinking, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and manage tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end investigations of flagged activities using advanced analytical techniques.
- Conduct data management processes, including extraction, cleansing, and validation.
- Assist with the design, development, and optimization of dashboards to monitor agent patterns.
- Maintain oversight of dashboards, trackers, and documentation across fraud functions.
- Deliver high-impact ad hoc extraction and analysis for urgent business inquiries.
- Assist with operational risk event reporting to ensure alignment with policies.
- Partner with the Exception Review team to identify behavioral trends among agents.
- Facilitate cross-team discussions to address identified agent gaps or errors.
- Remain thoughtful and use evidence to determine root causes and solutions.
- Work effectively with teammates to drive results across the organization.
