Tesla is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Bobcat Quality team, focusing on the Quality Management System for cathode material in manufacturing and lab environments. The role involves leading projects that impact cell quality and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
- Experience in new product launch from prototype to production
- Experience commissioning new equipment and new processes into a production environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use technological tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize and interpret data
- Experience working with domestic/international vendors on technical projects
- Structured problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, etc.)
- Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing is highly desired
- Programming (SQL, Python, MATLAB, R, etc.)
- Familiarity with lab material characterization techniques
- Data analysis and visualization software (Tableau, JMP, Minitab, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams as the Cathode Quality expert
- Demonstrate strong sense of safety in all quality activities
- Define and establish incoming quality control tasks
- Manage non-conforming material process flows and evaluate suspect materials
- Work with Quality, Production and relevant teams for new cathode plant commissioning
- Lead the identification, root cause analysis, and resolution of manufacturing quality issues
- Define containment and disposition criteria based on quality requirements
- Monitor and report the First Pass Quality (FPQ) and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ)
- Plan and participate in audits of Tesla and supplier manufacturing lines
