The Principal Software Engineer – Identity & Security will lead engineering teams in designing and implementing scalable, secure solutions for Microsoft's Security and Identity organization. This role involves modernizing cloud-scale distributed systems and ensuring high availability and fault tolerance while driving engineering excellence initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 5+ years of experience working with backend storage layer solutions (e.g. SQL Server)
- 5+ years of experience working on cloud infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and deliver world-class Key Management & Distribution systems
- Evolve & migrate existing platforms to adopt latest innovations in security
- Lead systemic Single Point of Failure (SPOF) analysis and recovery engineering
- Drive Engineering Excellence initiatives focused on improving observability and system performance
- Deliver services that meet business continuity planning (BCP) requirements
- Improve onboarding experiences through declarative customer intent driven workflows
