Job Description

The Principal Software Engineer – Identity & Security will lead engineering teams in designing and implementing scalable, secure solutions for Microsoft's Security and Identity organization. This role involves modernizing cloud-scale distributed systems and ensuring high availability and fault tolerance while driving engineering excellence initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
5+ years of experience working with backend storage layer solutions (e.g. SQL Server)
5+ years of experience working on cloud infrastructure

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and deliver world-class Key Management & Distribution systems
Evolve & migrate existing platforms to adopt latest innovations in security
Lead systemic Single Point of Failure (SPOF) analysis and recovery engineering
Drive Engineering Excellence initiatives focused on improving observability and system performance
Deliver services that meet business continuity planning (BCP) requirements
Improve onboarding experiences through declarative customer intent driven workflows
