Job Description

Apple is seeking a Tools and Automation Quality Engineer to enhance the quality and innovation of Apple Maps. The role involves architecting and implementing automated quality engineering strategies across multiple platforms, ensuring high-quality user experiences through advanced testing practices and observability standards.

Requirements

BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
6+ years in Quality Engineering, specializing in large-scale test automation and advanced QE practices.
Understanding of testing methodologies.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Effectively communicate intricate technical analysis and actionable recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in at least one or more languages used for automation, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

Implement and monitor performance metrics, health indicators, and engineering scorecards.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines; establish quality gates.
Architect and evolve scalable test automation platforms.
Drive advanced QE practices: AI-assisted test generation, log analysis, and anomaly detection.
Establish end-to-end observability performance standards (metrics, tracing, logging, validation).
Lead automated test design and implementation.
Develop comprehensive performance test strategies and plans.
Evaluate and integrate new testing tools and technologies.
Define and enforce quality gates and release criteria.
Facilitate root cause analysis and drive preventative measures.
Develop and maintain test data management strategies.
Design, implement, and maintain automated reporting for test results and quality metrics.
Perform manual tests and experiments, while maintaining test devices.
