Job Description

Arcadis is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern to join their Water/Wastewater team in Chicago, IL. The role involves collaborating with experienced professionals to tackle water-related challenges and develop sustainable solutions, while gaining hands-on experience in project evaluation, planning, and design activities.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Experience/ familiarity with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and/or Revit.
  • Flexibility, displaying the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks with varying deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic with the desire to work in a fast-paced environment with an interdisciplinary team of engineers/scientists.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in project evaluation, planning, and design activities.
  • Support the development of sustainability and resilience projects.
  • Participate in fieldwork tasks like site visits, sampling, and water quality analyses.
  • Assist in asset management projects and utilize data analytics.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for client meetings.
  • Ensure project compliance with company standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Manage databases, SQL server, and cloud-based computing services.
  • Employ digital tools like Power BI and SharePoint.
