Arcadis is seeking a Staff Water Engineer to join their Water team in New York, NY. The role involves delivering design work for water and wastewater clients, focusing on stormwater and resiliency projects while ensuring compliance with national standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering AND EIT Certification.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other design software.
- Experience with stormwater management calculations and green infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with computer programming tools like SQL, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, particularly using SWMM and/or ICM along with proficiency in GIS.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of stormwater and resiliency projects.
- Exercise judgement on details of work and make preliminary selections of engineering alternatives.
- Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction observation, and water quality analyses.
- Support professional engineering services during construction including review of shop drawings and responses to RFIs.
- Manage tasks as a project resource to meet budget, timeframe, and quality objectives.
- Liaise with project managers/team leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.
- Review completed engineering work to ensure it meets specified standards.
