This role involves acting as a technical liaison between field service and engineering teams to identify and resolve product issues. The position requires leading investigations into product problems, implementing solutions, and enhancing customer value through data analytics.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Service, Product or Controls Engineer, or related position
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as Service, Product or Controls Engineer, or related position
- Experience in identifying, defining, and prioritizing product issues
- Experience in anticipating potential product or process issues in the field
- Knowledge of total cost of ownership
- Experience in failure analysis and data trends
- Experience in Field Investigation and Support
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair to maximize customer uptime
- Experience with Product Serviceability Requirements and Review
- Ability to identify systemic root cause of product problems
- Knowledge of regulatory design requirements for diagnostics
- Experience in Product Development Execution, Monitoring and Control
Responsibilities
- Act as technical liaison between field service and engineering teams
- Lead investigation of product or system problems and recommend appropriate actions
- Own problem resolution for moderately complex electrical and electronic components
- Prioritize work initiatives to balance resources and anticipate potential issues
- Enhance customer value through data analytics
- Lead consensus with technical experts for proactive engineering decisions
- Gather and communicate technical information for quick issue resolution
- Create information for efficient troubleshooting and repair
- Structure and publish Product Serviceability Requirements and Review procedures
- Solve product problems using a process that protects the customer
- Identify internal, external, and regulatory design requirements for diagnostics
- Develop and execute test plans to validate diagnostics
